Precise evaluation of RNA extraction methods with automated RT-qPCR assay preparations by Gilson
Two RNA extraction techniques were tested: manual solid-phase extraction utilizing a spin column kit and magnetic bead–based separation utilizing the Promega Maxwell 16 LEV plant RNA kit. The quality and quantity of amplifiable RNA was then determined by RT-qPCR using the Promega GoTaq probe 1-step RT-qPCR assay. To further enhance the accuracy and consistency of the procedures, the Gilson Pipetmax qPCR assistant was employed to automate the qPCR process.

Precise evaluation of plant RNA extraction methods with automated RT-qPCR assay preparations by Gilson
Functional corn RNA was quantitated by RT-qPCR using the GoTaq probe 1-step RT-qPCR system after two different extraction methods: the Promega Maxwell 16 LEV plant RNA kit and a competitor spin column-based plant RNA extraction kit. To enhance the pipetting accuracy and consistency an automated pipetting assistant, Gilson Pipetmax 268, was used to reduce pipetting errors inherent in manual methods.

Gilson Pipetmax Normalization Assistant: automated normalization of DNA and RNA samples
The Normalization Assistant allows your lab to create fully-automated DNA or RNA normalization protocols on the Pipetmax. Dilution and sample volumes are automatically calculated and are documented in run reports. Sample information can be imported and exported to save time and prevent errors. It brings effortless traceability and reliability to your DNA or RNA normalization sample prep while performing all of your normalization sample prep for you.

Gilson Pipetmax: improving qPCR reliability with automated RNA normalization and plate setup
Pipetmax Normalization Assistant delivers an easy-to-use software and hardware solution to automate normalization of sample concentration without compromising RNA integrity. Pipetmax qPCR Assistant generates standardized and reproducible methods to automate qPCR plate setup. This powerful yet easy-to-use system integrates into your workflow, providing reliable pipetting and verifiable results while eliminating bookkeeping errors and user variation.

Gilson Pipetmax: flexible automated workflow for kinase selectivity profiling
Automation of the kinase selectivity profiling system with the Pipetmax, in conjunction with automated detection and data analysis methods, offers a streamlined workflow for single-point and dose-response evaluation of potential cancer therapies.

Gilson Pipetmax: automation of the Agencourt AMPure XP PCR purification system
This application note demonstrates a flexible and reliable automated procedure for next-generation sequencing (NGS) library cleanup. This script can process up to 96 samples in a single run, increasing throughput and providing consistency for a challenging procedure.

Gilson Pipetmax: automating 384-well qPCR plate preparation
In this application, the Pipetmax was used to automatically prepare 384-well qPCR plates in order to monitor PVY levels post infection.

Gilson Pipetmax: automated library prep for BRCA MASTR Dx diagnostic assay
The Gilson Pipetmax, a small, personal liquid handling system, performs all liquid handling steps for the BRCA MASTR Dx kit to create and purify libraries for next generation sequencing (NGS). The results show that using Pipetmax achieves consistent and reproducible results for the amplification, pooling, and cleanup of samples.

Optimization of qPCR master mix dispensing with Pipetmax by Gilson
In this application note, Gilson used the Pipetmax automated liquid handler to test whether the number of times a tip was pre-wet before transferring master mix affected qPCR performance.

Nextera XT DNA library preparation on Pipetmax by Gilson
In this application, Gilson compared sequencing results for E. coli whole genome sequencing libraries prepared with the Illumina Nextera XT kit, with liquid handling carried out either manually or automated with Pipetmax. The automated methods provided reproducible liquid handling, resulting in smaller standard deviations and lower variance between replicates.
